I drew this surreal illustration to showcase a woman who's seeing her reflection in a mirror as it displays to her the queen that she is! Note: The framed picture in this image is of my Great,Great,Great, grandmother!
Reflections is a surreal digital composition built around identity, memory and self-perception. A nude figure viewed from behind raises both arms toward a large standing mirror containing the portrait of a woman in a headwrap. A vintage framed portrait, unusual plant-like forms and floating faces add layers of symbolism, while the room opens unexpectedly into a bright outdoor landscape. The dreamlike juxtaposition encourages multiple interpretations rather than presenting a single literal narrative.
This digital illustration was drawn by the artist Michael Thompson aka MikeThaArtist of Splif City!
